Dunamu, a prominent blockchain and fintech company, has reappointed Mr. Lee Seokwoo as CEO until December 2026 after a shareholder meeting. Mr. Lee, previously a journalist and holding various key roles in technology companies like IBM Korea, NHN US, Kakao, and Joins, has been pivotal in transforming Upbit into Korea’s top cryptocurrency exchange and fostering Dunamu’s growth to over $10 trillion in assets within a decade since its founding in 2012.
This reappointment extends Mr. Lee’s tenure, originally set to conclude in December 2023, making him the longest-serving CEO in the crypto industry, excluding founders. His leadership has been commended for Dunamu’s remarkable growth, both internally and externally, in navigating the dynamic digital asset market. The company aims to solidify its position as a global leader in the Web 3 era under Mr. Lee’s leadership.
Additionally, during the meeting, Dunamu approved the conversion of 200 billion won of its 800 billion won reserves into retained earnings.
