Korbit, Korea’s premier virtual asset exchange, has outpaced Coinone in 24-hour trading volume, securing the third spot among major Korean currency exchanges. This feat was driven by the impact of ‘Wemix,’ a virtual asset introduced by Wemade, a prominent Korean game company. Korbit revealed an urgent breaking news update on the 16th, reporting a 24-hour trading volume of 64.6 billion won by 11:34 p.m., edging past Coinone’s 64.5 billion won. This marks the third-highest volume since March 4, 2019, according to Korbit. The surge is attributed to the listing and airdrop of Wemix, along with increased deposit and withdrawal limits from Shinhan Bank and fee exemptions, as analyzed by a Korbit official. Presently, Wemix’s trading volume stands at 57.1 billion won on Korbit and 8.6 billion won on Coinone.
